Sadness can exist in heaven now because God is sad when people sin. When God creates a new heaven and new earth, sadness will not be in heaven.

No , there will not be a lot of sadness in heaven according to , Isaiah chapter 25 vs 8 “he will swallow up death forever. the sovereign lord will wipe away the tears from all faces” . I believe people will not loose all there sadness but still have some type of emotions . So yes and no

Genesis 6:6 says"So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart". Given the heart-breaking experience of God, there was sadness in Heaven.
John 16: 22 says "So you have sorrow now, but I will see you again; then you will rejoice, and no once can rob you of that joy"; and Revelation 21:4 says "He will wipe every tear from their eyes,and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."
That being said, there won't be sadness in Heaven after the judgement day as those who have been ransomed by the Lord will be rejoicing.

Where to begin? The definition of sadness helped me when I was looking the verses up. Sadness: affected by unhappiness or grief; sorrow or mourning.
